Between 12th and 23rd September 2017, 13 Flemish cyclists were in Romania to support the project ‘Active Rural Communities in providing and monitoring home care services – Increasing the access to medico-social services for elderly in 5 rural communities’.
Cyclists’ action ended on September 21st, with the conference “Increasing access to home care services for the elderly in Romania” hosted at the Romanian Parliament Palace.
The conference was organized under the patronage of the Health and Family Commission of the Chamber of Deputies and Embassies of Belgium and Switzerland in Romania. The conference was attended by His Excellency Thomas Baekelandt Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium and Roland Python, Representative of the Swiss Embassy in Bucharest. Were also attending representatives of NGOs and local public authorities who already have experience in implementing such projects, representatives of the National Health House and, for a short while, the Health Minister was also present.
